Anyone think of applying for our August / September 2020 intake and considering Warsash Maritime Academy, part of Solent University in Southampton, can get an insight of what life as a cadet may be like through their Virtual Open Day being held on Thursday 2nd July.

The event will run from 11am to 3pm and you can register to attend and receive a Zoom link from the following page:

https://www.solent.ac.uk/open-days/open-event-careers-at-sea-virtual-open-day-2-july

Full details will be provided upon registration, but there will be a focus on the deck side of things at 11:00, and Engineering at 14:00, with lots of other information and insight in between.

The virtual open day aims to give you an insight into what a career in the maritime industry has to offer, and the training programmes necessary to qualify as a ship’s navigation, engineer or electro-technical officer in the merchant navy and the superyacht industry.

This is an opportunity to learn about the exciting and diverse roles in the shipping industry and how you can take your first steps on a wonderful career path.

The Warsash teaching team and a number of shipping companies will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

CMT staff will also be present to discuss opportunities as a cadet, how we will support you, and how to apply online.

You can also hear directly from current officer cadets, who can share their first-hand experience of the training and life as a cadet, both at Warsash and on board ship.

We look forward to seeing you there.
