STCW Proficiency for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties

Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course

Designed to give those undertaking designated security duties onboard ship the essential education and training meeting the knowledge, understanding and Proficiency requirements set out in the STCW Code and supporting chapter XI-2 of the annex of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at sea (SOLAS) 1974 and the ISPS Code.

The course will include the following;

  • The ISPS Code
  • Threats to the maritime transport industry
  • Maritime security definitions
  • Security roles and responsibilities
  • Company and Ship security requirements
  • Security threat levels
  • Security measures and procedures

Upon successful completion all candidates will be issued with an STCW Proficiency for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties certificate.
