Clyde Marine Training is pleased to extend their short course training to include HSE approved and recommended courses. These can be delivered in-house, through offices in Glasgow and Southampton or at various locations, often with short notice. All of our instructors are HSE certified trainers and work to the outlined guidelines and standards.

We can also provide ad hoc courses as and when required to a variety of industries. If your business has particular training requirements, we can offer bespoke courses which are tailored to meet your business needs allowing you a flexible and customised service.

Fire Extinguisher Training

This half-day course is designed for candidates who have little or no experience in the use of fire extinguishers. The course will train candidates in the safe and correct use of fire extinguishers and in how to extinguish small fires. Delegates will be required to complete a practical assessment to demonstrate their level of understanding of the subject..

By the end of this training candidates will be:

Aware of the classification of fires.
Aware of the different ways that fires can be extinguished.
Able to identify different types of fire extinguishers.
Aware of how to check fire extinguisher before use.
Aware of safety precautions to take in the use of fire extinguisher.
Aware of how fires start.
Able to operate an extinguisher.

This course costs £380 + VAT (maximum of 18 candidates)

Fire Warden Training

This course is designed to provide candidates with the required training as outlined in the Fire Scotland Act. This course is designed for staff with specific duties in the event of fire and who have a responsibility for implementing the evacuation procedure.

This course includes:

Legislation
Fire Safety Measures
Causes of Fire
Company fire safety procedures
Classification of fires
Fire extinguisher safety and use of Fire extinguishers
Human Behaviour
Fire drills
Fire warden duties
Evacuation systems
Accounting method

The cost of the course is £200 + VAT (maximum of 10 candidates)

First Aid at Work

This 3 Day course covers all aspects of First Aid training and all companies employing over 50 employees must have a qualified First Aider.

The First Aid at work certificate is valid for 3 years.

This course costs £220 + VAT.

First Aid at Work Refresher

This 2 day refresher course is required to maintain the Health and Safety Executive First Aid at Work Certificate.

This course costs £150 + VAT.

Emergency First Aid

This 1/2 day course is a Health and Safety Executive recommended, non-assessed course. This is the minimum level of First Aid training for those acting in the absence of a qualified First Aider.

This course costs £75.00 + VAT.

Manual Handling

This ½ day course Manual Handling Course is aimed at all levels of employees who may undertake manual handling operations.

More than a third of all over-three-day injuries reported each year is caused by manual handling activities, which include lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling and carrying.

This course costs £35pp + VAT with a discount for 12 persons or more.
