Clyde Marine Training help students in Govan

Clyde Marine Training helped out at a Scottish Business in the Community event at the Pearce Institute in Govan. Lots of pupils from schools around Glasgow attended where we had discussions and activities about employability skills. We discussed personal statements, interview techniques, teamwork and carried out mock interviews. Hopefully this will help pupils make more informed decisions about what they want to do in their future career and how they will achieve it. We also spoke to a group of pupils at Govan High School who are doing a ‘Uniformed Jobs’ course as part of their S4 studies. They are looking at different jobs which involved uniforms, not just the services, and Robin White attended from Clyde Marine Training to give them an idea of what the Merchant Navy is.
