Boat Safety Scheme
The Boat Safety Scheme was jointly established in 1997 by the Environment Agency and British Waterways to promote safety on the inland waterways in respect of boats, their installations and components. Meeting these safety standards in order to obtain a navigation license became a requirement at the same time.
Clyde Safety, a division of Clyde Marine Training Limited, was founded primarily to meet the safety needs of business throughout Scotland and Southern England. As well offering Portable Appliance Testing, Fire Extinguisher Servicing and a wide range of industrial work and safety wear, we are now proud to expand our service further and offer Boat Safety Scheme examinations. With over 220 years maritime experience amongst our staff coupled with the fact that our lead examiner, Robert Wilson, has more than 11 years of experience as a marine engineer we are more than equipped to meet all your boating needs. As well as being ISO 9001:2008 accredited, Clyde Marine Training was awarded Best performing Business in the 2009 Glasgow Business awards, voted a SMARTA 100 company and is run by boat enthusiasts! As with all of our services we offer flexibility to meet your requirements.
