We are currently accepting applications for training commencing in August/September 2013. If you wish to apply for sponsorship commencing after that date then please come back and apply after 1st October 2013.

 

The role of a Merchant Navy Officer is a challenging one and the training required in order to get to that stage is no different. Our sponsor companies need Officer Trainees who are ready to take on not only the difficulties of a life at sea, but also the challenges of several years of academic work. One of the ways we assess the suitability of potential Trainees is by using this online test. If you pass it you may be lucky enough to secure sponsorship, if you do not pass it, then unfortunately we would not be able to take your application any further.

 

Before starting the online test please make sure you have enough time set aside to complete both this and the online application form which follows – it is best to allow at least 45 minutes, but you may need more. You should have all of your personal information to hand for the completion of the application form, including  your passport details, national insurance number, details of academic institutions attended and any qualifications gained, medical information and details of your previous work experience. You will also need full contact details of two people who are willing to provide references for you, one of which MUST be of a professional nature relevant to your previous job or education e.g. your last or current employer or a recent school teacher / headmaster.

 

If you do not have this information to hand then please come back later when you do, as all applications submitted MUST be completed in full. Any application submitted with information missing will be rejected.

 

Please note that the email address you submit before sitting the test and when you complete the application form must be the same. This will be the email address we use to contact you regarding the outcome of your application so please make sure you check this account regularly.

 

In addition please note that if you have applied to Clyde Marine Training within the last six months your application shall be automatically rejected. If you are re-applying please ensure that you wait at least six months since the date of your last application.
